Hello there - who ever might stumble across my profile!
I'll never stop drawing and painting but DeviantART has become a bit too much for me. I'm really sorry to be leaving but I think this might be the right choice for me. I can't say that it will be forever but it will be for now nevertheless.
If you want to keep following my art I post often on Instagram. If Instagram isn't the platform for you I also have a blog where I post step-by-steps of my paintings, I share a bit of art theory, art books and art supplies and other art related things.
I would love to "meet up" with you on these other platforms so let me know if you're active there

Busy but Not Gone. Inktober Awaits!

Hello there - whoever might stumble across my profile!
I've been swamped with school lately and I haven't had nearly as much time for my art as I would have liked to have. With inktober starting tomorrow I'll try and find some more time. I'm eager to try and complete inktober and hopefully it can give my the little push I've been looking for.
Inktober will definitely be a challenge but I'm sure I can learn so much be limiting myself and focusing on exploring some new things. Any of you out there participating in inktober?

What about a Blog?

Hello there - whoever might stumble across my profile!
Oh how I am confused.
Not only am I confused about my art but I'm also confused about how to present it.
First of all I should probably explain, my thoughts never stand still, so my mind is on the clock 24/7 and a lot of that time is spent thinking about art. Do I like what I'm doing at the moment? Should I try some new things? Do I need to practise some fundamentals?

But then the much more difficult questions arrive and the one that I've been pondering these days is: what is the "right" way for me to share my art? There are so many platforms to choose from:

I've tried a few of them but somehow I don't feel either one is quite right for me. There are some good things about all of them but also some things that I don't really care for. DeviantART and Instagram are for sure my first choices but I need something a bit different.
I think that what I might be looking for is my own blog. Then a question pops into my mind: do people even read blogs? If they don't then the whole "I want to share my creations with you" kind of falls to the ground.
Do you read blogs? I read one blog gurneyjourney.blogspot.… by James Gurney. I've tried to find more but a lot don't seem very interesting (uhuh - maybe mine would be the same?) or they haven't been updated for a couple of years.
I don't know... That's why I'm trying to reach out to you guys

**UPDATE** - if you need inspiration I've written a couple of my favorite things at the bottom of this journal entry
I've been meaning to do another art trade for a little while and ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) are a great way to do that! Because of their size I can paint more small originals so I can trade with more of you. I'll be making nine ATCs and I would love to trade one of mine for one of yours.
What's an ATC?
- Artist Trading Cards are small artworks you can trade with your fellow artists
- You can use any media (go ahead and show me your style)
- Give your artwork a title and sign your name and country on the back of your work
- Create and collect art from all over the world
- Size 2,5" x 3,5"

Do you need some inspiration?
- You don't have to paint or draw your ATC. If you're mainly a photographer you can maybe do some sort of collage with your photographs
- I love everything magical
- Plants and nature have a big place in my heart
- All kinds of animals are love but I especially like bears
- Some of my favorite colors are: blues, greens, yellows and purples

Do You Want to Be a Part of My Project?

Hello there - whoever might stumble across my profile!
Lately I've tried to take a step back and asked myself: what do I want to do with my art? Not style. Not skills. But what do I want my art to represent.
I want my art to be something more than just pretty. I want it to have some thought behind and evoke feelings. I'm hoping you might want to help me with that!
I have an idea. It's not perfect yet but hopefully you can help me figure everything out. I want to make a series of paintings and with each painting have a little story. It's the stories I need your help with.
The paintings:
There are going to be eight paintings. Seven paintings with the feeling: "falling" and one where it all "rises".The stories:
There are also going to be eight stories. Seven stories about some time in life when you were in a dark place. Maybe you were heartbroken. Maybe life was tough financially. A dark place is very individual so there are no rights and wrongs. The last story is about how you came back from the dark place.I know this is very personal so if you want to share your story with me everything will be anonymous and be handled with respect.
I want to be a part of your project - what do I do?
- Firstly I want to say that this is so brave of you ♥
- Share your story with me. Let me know what your dark place was and how you came back from it.
- Don't worry about spelling or grammar - that's really not what this is about.
- You should know that I intend on displaying the stories with the paintings so you should be in agreement with others reading it. It will of course be anonymous.
I really hope you want to help me but you should in no way feel obligated to share your story. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
In the amazing event that there are more than eight of you who share your stories with me I will choose the eight stories that made the greatest impact on me.
